Midsummer night
Happy Birthday to Jeandre! He turned 3 a few days ago and his cuteness certainly hasn't suffered from his aging! I found this cute t-shirt in the gift shop here with the two characters on from Good Morning Brunstad and he loved it! He's been a little sunshine around here and I'm sure going to miss him!
I'm sitting here out on my balcony with Maaike, thoroughly enjoying the beautiful evening! She moved in with me for the next week and a half as her cabin was rented out for the conference. It's been really cool to have her here. She brought with her the wireless router from her cabin so we have internet out here too! I think I might be hooked! She's working on a scrapbook page for someone on A-lag and consulting me on the design. :D It's so nice and cool out here this evening. This past week it has been in the 80's and it can get quite stifling in the office with no air conditioning and almost no breeze working it's way through the building. Haike brought in her fan though, and we survive! If there's a little more salt in the soup, you know why! (jk! :D) Everyone who's not working here has been spending most of the time down at the beach, eating ice cream and brain coolers. It's funny because it's not nearly as hot and humid as it gets back home, and it's actually awesome weather as long as you're not stuck indoors.
Today we ordered eggplant, mozzarella and parmesan cheese! I have been waiting for the eggplant to come into season so it would be cheap enough for our meager budget to handle, and this week it did!! So on Monday the menu includes grilled chicken fillet, roast potatoes, fettuccine Alfredo, eggplant parmesan, italian salad with vinaigrette dressing and we'll have to see what we end up having for dessert. I'd love to make tiramisu...
Beulah, Michelle, Leah and Naomi (Jacobs?) just walked under my balcony and I stood up to say hello to them. (I live on the 4th floor) We chatted for a few minutes (hi to Maria from Beulah!) and then I went inside and got three of the lollipops that Maria left here and was going to drop them down for the girls. Michelle (5?) had a big red bucket as they were headed down to the beach and I told her to come and stand right under the balcony and I would drop them in her bucket. I dropped the first one and it went right in the bucket, bounced out, and she caught it again! The second and third ones also landed in the bucket but bounced out onto the ground. She was so cute looking up and catching them! Really nice to see them again!
Well, it's actually turning chilly despite slippers and the cup of hot peppermint tea - thanks Maaike! I'm heading inside to catch up on a few things. Can't wait to see you tomorrow Teresa, Johanna & Co!
Hey! I see you're trying to keep up with me and post something on the last day of July! Hehe, I just posted it on my lunch break today. Hehe, Hi to Beulah! I only got to see Leah and Michelle from across the hall during the children's conf. a bit. Really would have loved to see them. I can just picture your balcony with tea and then I can picture me there drinking it with you...
Hello again! I think the chilly evening sounds great! I am getting ready to have another cup of Tea!
are u coming back at some point?
