A 4th in the north

We celebrated the 4th here with as much style as we could muster! I had some patriotic napkins left over from last year which we used to decorate the tables and we placed flags around the dining hall. Kim, Jill and Angela made festive cakes with strawberry sauce. It was a bit different this year as the conference had already started and we didn't have our usual evening together with all the Americans, but it was still fun! (the bagel pics are from the next day) It's so cool to have you around again, Kim! Today: The heat wave has finally broken and yesterday it was actually a little chilly at work! Definitely preferable to overwhelmingly, sticky hot! It's raining today and there was just the loudest clap of thunder I've heard in ... 3 years!! Awesome! I love and miss thunderstorms! It's a "sit back and enjoy the rain with a good book" sort of day, for those who don't have to go to work. The new recruits in the kitchen have picked up the routine pretty fast which is really good news for me! The steel work tables that I have been waiting for IKEA to have in stock since FEBRUARY have finally come in!! I'm trying to figure out how to make it work to get there tomorrow! I cannot WAIT to throw out all the old wooden tables and finally have something that's durable and cleanable! Wednesday, here we come!

Thank you:) And big hug and hello to Priyanka! She's one of the bestest little sisters I ever had! So cool that she gets to be at Brunstad AND work with you AND get to know ANGE..!! It doesn't get any better! Unless of course you live in Delaware with the coolest husband ever and 2 sweetheart little boys and have Liz over pretty much every day:)

Yeah, we didn't manage to get to IKEA... Hopefully next week. Or so.

It has been really fun to get to know Priyanka! She's working in the kitchen the whole summer, but not sure where she'll be after that. Give your boys a hug for me!

Hooray Independence Day! Glad you celebrated the 4th, it's still an awesome country that we were lucky enough to be born in! :) Really nice to see pics of ange too; shout out to angela! Teresa you've got to promise me that you'll make me some homemade bagels when you get home. Everytime you post a pic of them they look wonderfully delicious :)

Mark asks "can her make some of "those" some time?" those = your bagels! He just looked at them and thinks "maybe you can make some of them later:)"
Can you?
Tina, may we eat bagels with you too?

Mark just said "maybe Jude can learn to make them !!" lol

Nice to see you're learning to share, Tina! :D Mel asked me today if I'm counting down the days so I had to look at the calendar - it's roughly 7 weeks! :D
