Sarma + friends

Just a quick post that I started several WEEKS ago, and never managed to get posted. 8-) Jessika (front and center, from Turkey) had been wanting to make sarma (turkish dish made up of pickled vine leaves stuffed with rice and seasoned meat and cooked) for a long time and finally got someone to bring her the leaves. They also make something very similar in Romania so Florina and a couple of other Romanian girls, a girl from Hong Kong, Holland, Angela and I had a fun evening making and eating Turkish/Romanian food.

Florina and Jess, making the meat filling
Playing games while waiting for the sarma to cook. The end result was delicious with a cucumber yogurt sauce! I made some baklava and mint tea to go with it. Yum! Thanks for an awesome evening!
