17th of May
Last Saturday we celebrated the 17th of May, my first here in Norway. Although I must say I much prefer the way we celebrate our national day back home, it was interesting and funny to see how excited Norwegians get about getting dressed up in their very best clothes, marching around in a parade and shouting hip hip hurray non-stop! Half an hour before the parade started, the girls who were working in the kitchen suddenly decided they wanted to be in the parade too. They whipped around trying to get dinner ready so they could take a 30 minute break and represent the kitchen and Alag. I was happy to watch from the balcony and take pictures.
Hurray for the pink shirts! Love the pic from the balcony. It is Friday (I am still at work) and most are leaving for the Soccer/Victory Feast weekend.
Gas is $3.85 per gallon and climbing. Bob and I can't make it this time :-(
Have a great weekend!
