Apple cider = Fall
Happy Tuesday! As predicted, I hooked up with Sarah over the weekend, and we went shopping for a couple of hours in Tønsberg, and I got a couple of things for my apartment - new couch pillows, mugs, a pottery bowl to match the mugs, a candle, as well as a sweater for me! Overall it was a pretty successful trip and I'm pleased with the new look it lends to the apartment! Tea anyone?
Today was one of those beautiful, crisp fall days that make you want to take a long walk in the woods with a good friend, have a picnic lunch, then take a canoe across a lake and back. I didn't do any of those things, but had to settle for standing in the sun for a few minutes and just enjoying the fresh air.
I just realized this evening that I really, REALLY need some apple cider. I've made the ever elusive apple butter, apple sauce and apple pie here, but I'm really quite desperate for cider! I just looked up how to make it online, and although it sounds a little complicated (and rather like a distillery in places), I am determined to try to make some! I'll let you know how that goes!
Tomorrow is going to be a busy day, and extremely cold for a couple of people! About a week ago, I noticed ice growing behind the fan in the walk-in freezer. This is of course in retaliation for the girls propping the door open as they quickly scramble to find whatever they are looking for "because it's COLD in there!" So today we moved everthing (again!) from the milk refrigerator and somehow made room for it in the fruit and veggie refrigerator, then turn the evacuated fridge into a freezer. Tomorrow we will have to move EVERYTHING from the freezer into the new freezer, let the old freezer thaw out, clean it, turn it back on, then do everything in reverse! Fun, fun!! It's called, "stop every ten minutes for a warm drink break in my office!"
Congrats to DE on the Victory Feast and on nearly winning the soccer tournament! I was rooting for you all the way!! Next time! I'll be looking for that post, Maria, and soon to be Kris! Can't wait!
Thanks for cheering us on! The soccer team really played their hearts out!
I could go for a cup of that tea. The picture looks sooooooo inviting!
Man, you are just posting away aren't you?! :D cool for us too look at, an keeps reminding me that I need to do the same for you. Last night tho, I was shampooing my basement floor and only got about 1/8th of it done so maybe I can work on a post during lunch today. Maaaaybe... ; )
Hello Teresa,
it was awesome to see your picture. I miss you!!! I want to come over for tea, that picture is everything I grave right along with your walk etc. I am in Salem now getting settled in. I am not working full time yet but I am visiting tons of people and that leaves me more room to do fundraising too. Right now I am going to visit a sister with her two boys and we are taking a walk and in the brisk fall air.
LOVES,
mina
