Step on in

Hello Monday! Thanks for taking it easy on us today! We needed that after a busy week, and a tight schedule coming up for this one too! These pictures were taken last Friday. You can see how effective the door into my office is! The glass has been cracked for quite a while and we are finally getting it replaced. YES!! Bagels made by Florina for Sunday brunch. Yesterday was the first time we served them to A-lag and they were a big hit! We figured out that we could steam them in the oven instead of boiling them to save time!! Yay! Shannon, doing what she loves - baking! Here making chocolate marshmallow bars! Today: I just got home from a 2 1/2 hour choir practice. The song is really starting to come together and I'm loving it more and more each time we sing it! The choir practices every time for an hour first and then all of A-lag comes and we sing it together for the last hour...or longer! It's worth the sore throat and feet, having the song running through your head 24/7 and shushing 150 people who seem impervious to being shushed when Jessica smiles listening to the 5 part harmonies. Very cool. The rest of this week we will have a two hour choir practice every evening and then we perform (and WIN) on Saturday evening during the youth feast. It's going to be awesome! We are very short-handed on workers this weekend with so many coming for the 17th of May and everyone is going to be double-shifting. Haike and I are pulling the same shift as we did during AEG - lunch and dinner together. I like it though. We only have a few more weeks until the busy summer period starts and we will be saying goodbye to 6 - 7 girls. The replacements will start to come in just a few weeks and the cycle starts all over again. Haike will be leaving in the fall and we started training Florina (see above photo) today to take over for her. It's been a pleasure to work together with Haike and she will really be missed! I'm looking forward to working with Florina, though, and getting to know her better! Cheers and have a good week!
