Turn up the heat
Today: Happy October 1st! It is COLD! It is freezing at night and they got snow yesterday a hundred miles from here! That should be illegal for anyone still nursing a sunburn. The thermostat is turned up, scarves and slippers are in use and I'm loving the hot pepper and (VERY) spicy cheese I brought from home! The heat is ON! Today was nice jacket weather though, and sunny. Good to know we haven't lost the sun for good. Yet. I really do love fall, but it's nice to find it at the normal transition rate. I'm sure I'll adapt quickly enough! This weekend is Fall Vacation and there are activities for all the kids here at Brunstad. It's a fun time and they only lack apple cider (which I have plans to make again this fall)! I miss that here. And tomatoes. The home-grown ones that hang out over the edge of the bread with a single slice, sliced half an inch thick. My deprived taste buds couldn't get enough of them at home and I'm sorry to say that I depleted my mom's supply, eating tomato sandwiches for breakfast, lunch and dinner almost daily. I've only been back for Christmas time so I never got them on my previous treks home in the past three years! They were very much enjoyed!!
I waded through a slough of emails today and tried to get myself back in the game. It was really nice to see everyone again! Now I am sitting here posting instead of unpacking two very large, rummaged-through suitcases. I think it's called procrastination. Or diversion. And hoping to be tired before 2:30 a.m. tonight! Here's hoping.
It is a little chilly here today!
Glad to see you packed some heat from home with the cheese and peppers!
Your tomato description is making me hungry for one!
Hey Teresa,
It is also officially fall here. The last two days I made a fire in the fire place. I do love the coziness of it. Anyway, now the heat is on all the time. Good luck on getting your sleep schedule back on.
Mina, you're comment is now going to make me miss my parents fire place! They are so warm and toasty... Gotta love fire places. Seeing your slippers Teresa, reminded me that I need to get some before it gets REALLY cold. (if you still consider DE to even get REALLY cold after Norwegian winters... )
Lol! Well I think it gets cold!! And I do LOVE our fire place...:D I'm not going to miss it though Maria, only YOU standing in front of it every morning!!!!!!! Teresa, BIG hi to everyone there from me!! Special big hug to Laurel and Est...and Haike and Florina...oh and everybody! Miss you guys!
Thanks Mina, I think I'm on track now. ;) And the fireplace sounds (and looks) lovely!
I think DE gets cold(ish)! lol
Big hi back from everyone, Ange!
