Stephan and Tina were married last weekend. It was a beautiful day, despite the fears that it would be stifling in a hall without air conditioning. It was so cool to see them both so happy, and it was a special day for everyone.

My ill-fated cake. For some reason, the fondant just would NOT work with me. I don't know if it was the humidity or it was too dry, or my lack of experience... It was cracking and dimpling, and wetting it and smoothing it was not doing the trick. It's very frustrating when you have a picture of what something should look like in your head, and it just doesn't turn out that way! I ran out of fondant and realized that the "pure white" fondant I had purchased was actually slightly off white, and clashed with the satin ribbon I had to trim the cake layers with. Emergency early morning trip to Walmart! In my frustration, I vowed to never make another wedding cake. Then changed it to never making a wedding cake with fondant. Then decided that I need to practice more so it's not 2 ~ 3 years between cakes. :P Yup, we're going with that one. :D My apologies to the bride!! I think it tasted good, though...
