Happy Fried Egg
And it's definitely a hot one!
The Fry an Egg in Your Car Project
Wait for a really stinkin' hot day
Check the temperature on the dashboard of your car. It should be at least 180 F.
Be sure to wear footwear. The blacktop is probably as hot as the inside of the car!
Pre-heat skillet and butter on dashboard for 10 minutes. Get your brother to crack the eggs so you can take pictures.
Check on the egg after 10 minutes. Drink large volumes of water after being outside for 5 minutes.
Check on egg after 20 minutes. Run back inside and take a shower to cool down.
It's ready to flip at 30 minutes. Do a happy dance on the blacktop because you forgot your flip flops. Make a dive for the grass when you start to get chills and can't feel the bottom of your feet anymore!
Check the temperature in the car, again, and try not to touch anything metal.
Wipe off the sweat pouring down your face. Go inside and stand in front of the fan, gulping water.
Egg is ready at 45 minutes. Send brother to get the egg, because you are sure it is ready, armed with a hot pad for skillet retrieval.
Lunch is served ~ one egg, over easy.
HAAAAA!!! that's amazing! i have always wanted to do that! :D looks good ;)
Lol...so kool!! I always wanted to do that too!!!
Love it! Now we REALLY know it can be done. I am guessing it tasted pretty good, too!!!
did he really eat it? Cause it took so long to cook it that the bacteria definitely formed while it was heating up slowly.
Thanks, guys, it was fun! :D
Mina, yes he ate it, and said it was very good! If you bring a food to an internal temperature of 160° F, the temperature an egg coagulates at, you will instantly kill almost any bacteria. :D
Lol. Only you!:) Heeheheehe, I'm still laughing! Love that you did this! See, when Delawareans say its hot, we're not just making things up...!!!! :)
Verba
Haha! I LOVE all your descriptions of what to do in the heat and how hot the blacktop is! SOOO true! Lol. I can just see Josh doing all this! LOVE this post! Hilarious!
That's awesome!! Last year, one of our local news teams baked chocolate chip cookies on a baking sheet in the car & they turned out perfectly!
kin Ah hev bacon with mine?
Unless of course Teresa they are thermaphiles (bacteria) which means they love heat (like the kind that can live in volcanoes:) and then they would survive no problem...:0 only problem is they dont live in food:)
Bacon coming right up!
Haha, Mel, only you...
