Oktoberfest!

Ben & Mel

One of the advantages of having a German brother-in-law is having one more national day to celebrate!
"Cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudels. Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles."

That was pretty much it - minus the ponies and the bells. Yum! Mel and I are both fairly green at cooking this type of fare, but Ben said it tasted like the real deal, so yay for us! The best part was watching Ben press the spaetzle which had slightly too much flour in, making it almost impossible to get through the press! Laughter (on both sides) ensued! You're a good sport, Ben!

The smell of coffee is wafting upstairs and I'm going down to claim a cup (or two). October is letting us know that it is here, but I love a crisp, rainy, fall day almost as much as a sunny one, and it's the perfect excuse to try making the pumpkin spice latte that I've been craving!

"O I am glad and satisfied in Him who strengthens me.
By faith that He His work will do, in me 'twill finished be."

Yay for leftovers! I had some tonight and it was yum! Oh, and cold, rainy, fall days are nice when you don't have to be out in them... =)

Yum!! It looks just like how we make ours!! I got to try saurkraut soup in Eureka Springs, AR a couple of weeks ago and was surprised at how delicious it was!!
