That's how many days I have lived! It's almost overwhelming when you think of it in that way. I can't remember every single day, and a lot of them blur together as time simply passed, but the question(s) that kept coming to me yesterday when Josh told me (he LOVES statistics) was, What have I done with all of those days? Has my life made a difference for the better in this world? Have I really made the most of my time here? Am I really "living" or just "passing time"? There's a saying that says, "Life is what happens while you're waiting for it to happen." We only get one shot at this. No do-overs or rewinds. Every day matters. I thought of a verse we heard last weekend, that has been special for me,
"He who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it." I Peter 3:10 - 11
Good days don't require good feelings, just me doing the good. So.Simple. I like that! I don't know how many more days I will be given, but I want to make them all be good days!
A red fox that has been hanging around for the past couple of days. He was beautiful in the snow!
Today: I'm off to make something "wintery" for dinner. Probably some potato soup! I love winter!!
"And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, "Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!" So God granted him what he requested. I Chronicles 4:10
Good-thought provoking post! The fox is beautiful in the snow!!
This was super good to think about! It made me calculate my days (I'm not revealing the huge number) and really think about how merciful God has been to give me time to live and learn! The verse from Peter has really been good for me too!!! Thanks, Teresa!
