Top o' the world...

...and morning to ya!
The sun was just beginning to creep over the top of the trees after barely taking a ten minute respite and light was spilling into my room. Rolling over, I heard the seagulls' piercing shrieks and songbirds vigorously singing away and knew that it was going to be a beautiful day. I stood out on the balcony for a few minutes, drinking it all in, before turning and looking at the clock.
(blink, blink)
"Hello, birds!!
What part of it's three o'clock on a Saturday morning and time for
all of us to still be sleeping do you not understand?!"
Even after being here for four summers, it still gets me that the sun shines in the middle of the night!
Stephen and Mark, challenged by Kirsten to find the country of Genovia, which is of course a "real country" because it was in the movie, Princess Diaries! She kept them going for awhile!
My new favorite pizza - crispy wholegrain spelt crust, spinach, artichoke and shallots with a fresh cherry tomato, garlic and pesto sauce and Mozzarella and Chevre cheeses! We ate the last of the leftovers today and I already want more

Only three weeks today until Abbie and Megan come!!

Sweet picture of the village! Can you submit that for a postcard?? =)Whats a shallot and WHAT is it doing on a pizza??

Hehe, don't know about a postcard... A shallot is a small, mild onion, and is good on pretty much everything! :D

Lol! I agree with everything Jenn said, and I think the seagulls screaming must have gotten to you. What funny pics of you in the pots. : ) Lol that the guys were really looking for "Genovia".

The pizza does look very addicting!! Bet your gonna miss your fully stocked kitchen!! I got a laugh too that they were looking for Genovia!

@ Maria - Is that what is wrong with me...?! :D I was digging in the cupboard for something I needed for the pizza and looked up and saw my reflection in the pot with all the pizza ingreeds around and cracked up!

@ Mel - It IS, and I AM! Kirsten and I were just sitting there choking. Stephen kept saying, "I know it should be somewhere up next to France and Belgium..." Too funny.

shallot - my fave onion! :) Goes with everything (almost, maybe not with strawberries).

I love our summers! I love waking early and not being in need of as much sleep anymore. I love the late night eternal sunsets and I love the early morning light. :)

in exchange, I hate winters dark hours. ;P Cant have it all.

I know - I love them too! (not with chocolate, either!!) :D

I love both your long summer days (mostly, except when I am dog-tired and can't sleep)and cozy winters! :D

That pizza looks amazing! That kind of thing is just down my alley. I bought some spelt berries the other day so now I can grind them and have fresh flour again for bread and pizza crust. I don't like running out. =) Have a super day!

Fresh ground spelt flour - sounds awesome, and like something I'll have to try! :D
