Brown Cheese Please!

Hello Thursday! It's been a really busy week during which I was sick for a day and a half with some sort of stomach virus. Not pleasant, but hey, it got me out of moving out of my apartment for the event so I'm not complaining! We have had continued beautiful fall weather with only a little rain. The above pictures were taken from my balcony. I love my view! Megan Davies, Emily Francis and Abbie Savage came over one evening after working late and we had fun reading this book that I have on amusing Norwegian cultures and customs. I love the illustrations. I put up a few pages and might add some more later on. On Monday we said goodbye to Tanja, who went back home to the Ukraine after being away for 3 years. She was one of my cooks and we miss her already! It was never dull with her around and we had lots of fun with her learning how to cook! You rock, Tanja and I hope you made it back home ok! On Tuesday, we had a seminar with Jane and all the (8) girls in our department (BTR - Brunstad Training and Resources) on the ferry to Sweden and back. We went over a lot of stuff and figured out how to make things work better for everyone involved. It was good. It was a cool place to have a seminar and luckily I remembered to take Dramamine so I was fine. A few of the others were not so lucky and remembered the best part of the day as getting off the boat. This picture is of the mirrored ceiling above our table. The trip was 2 1/2 hours one way and we just drove off the boat and got back in line to get on again. On the way home we had a nice buffet dinner. As I was perusing one of the duty-free shops, a salesman came up and started a conversation, trying to sell me all manner of things including $60 coffee karafes, which were on sale from $95. At one point he asked me if I was Norwegian or Swedish! Haha! Right. I kept inching for the door, which he was blocking, desperate as he was to sell me something. Finally I managed to end the conversation and was going out the door when he stopped me and said he had something for me, and then got six free tickets for the ferry, good for five people each, and handed them to me. Thanks! So it looks like we'll be doing a day trip with the kitchen girls if we get a free Saturday soon! They were pretty excited to hear that! Today: It was a mostly normal workday, today. We were having the trim and doors in the kitchen touched up yesterday and today and my head isn't appreciating the paint smells. I've been nursing a pretty nice headache/stuffy head both days, but I think they're done now and it will be better! We have an A-lag's feast coming up on Sunday and Haike and I have been hashing out the food and planning and deciding how much we need of everything. The planning comittee wanted the food to go with the theme of the feast, "rainbow", which is interesting to say the least! I'm not sure how they came on that theme, but it's definately different! I think it will be one of the most "interesting" and humorous feasts so far! I'll be sure to do a post! :D Looking forward to tomorrow - FRIDAY! Maybe, just MAYBE, I'll get a chance to finally try my hand at making apple cider. It's been one thing after the other so far but I have a feeling tomorrow will be my lucky day. I'll take the camera along just in case! Ciao!

It's me again. I kept looking at the picture of the mirrored ceiling and it just dawned on me that the camera is sitting on the table. I just could not figure out how you did that! Sometimes is just takes me a little longer to get it :-) Very cool pic. Glad you took your dramimine!!

Hehe, it is an interesting picture and taken on an odd angle so it's not surprising that you don't see everything at once! I like it though. :) I love it that you always leave comments!! Happy yardsale tomorrow!
