Leaves, leaves, leaves...
Yay, I love Fridays! (even though I DID NOT get to make apple cider again today!) There is a beautiful maple tree outside the kitchen and it was just begging for a photo shoot with all the kitchen girls and we willingly abliged! It was a lot of fun!! These were taken 3 days ago and as I looked at the tree today, nearly all the leaves had fallen and it's not half as beautiful as it was so we are lucky we took them when we did! All over Brunstad the leaves have pretty much fallen and fall is definately past it's peak. You can see your breath all day now, and not just mornings and evenings. There was frost on the grass this morning when I went to work.
Natasha, making beef stroganoff. She is too cute! She fits into the biggest of the pots!
Emily, draining the juice from BBQ chicken. Looks like she lost one...!
Today: It was steady busy all day today with all sorts of stuff; making recipes for the A-lag feast, explaining how to make meatloaf, tasting sauces, finding ellusive veggies in the freezer, answering the phone, replying to emails, explaining how to make banana cake, answering the phone, bandaging a cut finger, calling the plumber, organizing for the feast, answering the phone, checking on lunch, explaining how to make balsamic vinagrette, calling the electician, changing the schedule for next week, answering the phone and no, I did NOT get time to make my much anticipated apple cider! Tomorrow doesn't look hopeful either as we start preparing food for the feast and I need to run and grab a few last minute things from the grocery store, but ONE OF THESE DAYS, I will get to it and I'm sure it will be even more awesome for the wait! I snuck away a little early from work today and joined Emily and Ellen at the mall for dinner at SUBWAY, yes SUBWAY! I have been there a couple of times with Sarah K-B but not these girls and yes, it is just as good as you remembered it was back home and maybe a little better! In a way it's funny to see Norwegians eating here. You would think it would be a severe shock to the system to eat more than two things at once on a bun with a top! It's not exactly on my gluten-free, sugar-free diet either, but we'll get back on track tomorrow! We did some fat-burning shopping to our credit, trucking in and out of stores all over the three-level mall and I found some birthday gifts for the birthday girls coming up back home. Be on the lookout for PACKAGES!
It is officially 8 weeks from today until I come home. No, I haven't exactly bought my ticket yet, but that is my planned flight date. HAPPY WEEKEND, everyone!
Ah. I am actually first to leave a post this time! Debbie usually beats us to it! =) I had Subway on Friday with Kris! Yum! Blackforest ham and swiss cheese with baby spinach, lettuce, green peppers, tomato, onion and pickles. Does it get better than that??? =) Your fall pics are great! Our are in the earlier beginnings of turning...
We had a really good but TOTALLY exhausting yardsale weekend! It will be a bit of a break to go back to work tomorrow. ;) We did good though and I had lots of fun with my food team and waffle buddy aka Maria. Dead tired now, but I promise we'll talk soon!
Hope you have a good Monday!
