The other Brunstad cake
This post is just for you, Maria. This is the cake that Kim Couts and I made for the start-up A-lag feast August 07. We used 18 large pound cakes (good for carving) and a ganache filling. The main area under the stevnesenter is a styrofoam base. The trees are chocolate-covered skewers and spun sugar and other than a few props, everything was edible. I was the carver and she was the painter, until the last day and a half when I became both as she was busy doing the rest of the food for the feast. We only had 3 days to design, assemble, carve and paint it, which was not nearly enough time to do justice to what we imagined in our heads. We never got the whole thing finished and were working on it right up to the time they carried it upstairs. I never got any good pictures of the whole thing but I got these from a friend. Maybe one of these days I will attempt it again, and if I'm lucky, it will turn out how I imagine it will!

Oh Thanks! :) I feel special now! Hehe, how you woulda liked it or not, that cake was quite something. I uh, forgot about your um, "salmon" colored shirts... I think the blue are much better. : )
Hehe, it's about time! I quite agree with you on the shirts. The pink ones were hideous and I was SO glad when they finally wore out so we could get new ones!!
Hey, AWESOME cake! I can't imagine what you imagined in your head, but if its much better than that, I imagine its quite something!!!
