A tale of 19 cakes

Last November, we were asked if we could make a single, large cake, possibly with a picture of Brunstad on it, for the start-up feast for the new A-lag in the beginning of January. We brain-stormed and this is what we came up with for the feast we had on Monday. Nineteen chocolate cakes were made on Friday, then on Saturday, Andrea and I started to cut and level them, and put them together. We had tons of fun and were very pleased with our perfectly level, perfectly straight cake which was then covered with two layers of rolled out marsipan. Henk, who has been painting in Forum, agreed to do the "painting". It was a bit challenging to use icing, food coloring and marsipan as opposed to paint and canvas but it turned out really well! We finished it off with brandied coffee truffles around the edge. It was a huge hit at the feast!
