Taste of home

Yesterday was a GOOD day! We got everything done on time, did NOT let the dishes pile up to the ceiling, prepared the meat for today (so I can go in a little later today!) and my feet did not feel like they were going to break in two after work! Triple bonus! We have two young Danish girls coming every day now, from 12:00 until 20:00 and that makes SUCH a difference when they take care of washing up the dishes and we can just concentrate on the food part of it. Haike and I both love being in the kitchen and cooking again! Yesterday, for lunch I made minestrone (thought of you, Dad) and Haike made a Brazillian dish from home, for dinner. Very fun! It's been snowing here every day for the past week! Snow makes everything difficult beautiful! The problem being that the outdoor refrigerator/freezer lies at the BOTTOM of this path which we normally wheel everything up, as it sure beats carrying it by hand up the stairs inside! It's been snowing so much that they don't have time to keep all the paths cleared and it definitely throws an extra challenge in the deal for us! Yesterday, it was a slushy-almost rain-snow that really was not fun be out and maneuver in! It fell to Nadia and I to fill up the fridge for today and I'm sure it was quite humorous for anyone who happened to be watching! We managed it, though, and had a good laugh in the process! (note the 100 liters of juice and milk!)

Tough girls! Today: It should be a breeze today! Yesterday we hauled/pushed/shoved up the 70 kgs (155 lbs) of chicken for dinner today, marinated it, and put it on trays in the fridge so we could sleep in a bit today! Besides, it's SUNDAY so there's orange juice and eggs and fresh rolls! I'm going in around 10:00 to get lunch started (leftovers from yesterday). Mmm. Lets do this!

Hey Trees. Good luck with all that. ;-) I tell you, I wish we'd get snow here in De, but there are other times when I see places that have TOO much (in my opinion) then I'm thankful! Hehe. Especially it can get nasty where there are hills...which I guess it just about everywhere BUT De. lol.

Yeah, a little is nice but it sure can be a pain too! I'm really glad I at least don't have to dig a car out every day before I can go to work!! :) And hello, there are plenty of flat places besides DE! :P :D Give the babe a klem for me!

Hey Teresa,
I have been checking in often but just haven't commented.
Your work sounds challenging but fun. It is amazing that you get to know so many different people!
It is rather chilly today and there is talk of a little snow and ice for tomorrow we'll just have to wait and see in the morning!
We have had the old wood furnace stoked up lately so the house stays warm.
