Something old, something new
Something old: I found this picture of Olivia and Madison watching something funny on the computer from when I was home over Christmas time. I love how they are cousins, and best friends. I can't wait to watch them grow up together and see the people they become. I miss them.
New sound: I took my new laptop speakers in to Tønsberg last week to see if I could find an adapter over here that would work with them, with no luck. After we got back that evening, Ester came over to my place and placed a large bag on the couch beside me and said, "Merry Christmas". Inside was a sweet speaker system complete with sub woofer and i pod dock. She had picked it up that evening without me knowing! Really sweet sound and THUMPING bass! I have been listening to all my music again just to actually hear the sound again. It's pretty cool for watching movies too as I don't have a VCR and have to use my laptop. No more craning towards the laptop to hear the movie!
New president: I knew the inauguration was today. I kept seeing it online and thinking about it. Until i got caught up in the busyness of the day (dealing with 5 inch thick frozen slush while trying to get the kitchen car up the hill to House 33 and unloading 300 liters of milk, baking more muffins and cakes and cinnamon buns, making spaghetti and meatballs for dinner, birthday cake, etc. etc.) and suddenly realized at 5:30 this evening after dinner that the inauguration was already in progress! I dashed home and threw the TV on in time to catch the last bit of Yo Yo Ma, and then the swearing in and speech. It is what it is, and whatever it is, it is historical and rather cool to be a part of it, even way over here. I'm praying that President Obama will have wisdom and can lead our country in a good direction. God bless America!
