Awesomeness

Happy Father's Day to my amazing Dad! I revived this picture that was taken in Fall 2007 when Dad was here. It's one of the few pictures I have of the two of us and I love it! He, like fine wine, has only improved with age. He is constant, but not afraid to change, unfailingly generous, patient, loving and just plain awesome! Lucky me! I heart my Dad!

My team
We finally managed on Thursday to take our long-awaited-but-never-could-quite-make-it-work kitchen team evening out for bowling and pizza! (there are two guys in the kitchen now - one is transporting our deliveries and the other is a cook - so it's not kitchen girls anymore) :) It's not easy to arrange transportation for 18, get replacements for washing up after dinner and kvelds, making it fit with everyone's plans, etc. It was a near miss this time as well, but in the end it all worked out. Triple arm pump! One of the two vans we reserved was mistakenly loaned out to someone else and we sat and waited for over an hour until it was arranged for them to return it. Everyone eagerly piled into the two vans, only to have the sliding door fall off of the one! (this, apparently was not the first time) We all just sat down and cried laughed! It took about 15 minutes to get it back on the track and everyone then just piled in and out from the front seat all evening. We had a really fun evening though, and it was the first time bowling for quite a few. Because we got off to a late start, we ended up at Dolly Dimples for pizza at 10:45, fifteen minutes before they closed! They were really nice about it though, and gave us 4 specialty pizzas to choose from, and even made a Thai summer pizza just for Shannon! Most people hadn't had dinner and a few hadn't had lunch either so those 6 pizzas were DOWNED! We made it back to Brunstad after midnight but everyone managed to get to work on time, and make it through the next day. Several people asked me already when our next evening out would be! :)
Waiting for the van...
"Help, I need somebody. Help..."
Today: It was a beautiful, sunny day today, and I had a Heather, Doris and Rachel over for breakfast burritos. It was really nice to just hang out and chat, play a game of Scrabble and share a cup of tea. It was awesome to have a weekend off again but tomorrow we are back to insane. There are only two weeks left before the summer madness and there are events every day next week except for Monday. Let the fun begin! I lost one of my best cooks to Davidos and this week was her last in the kitchen. Natasha, we miss you already!
